Chelsea has officially confirmed Joao Felix's shirt number, while Raheem Sterling's number has been assigned to Pedro Neto

Chelsea has officially confirmed Joao Felix's shirt number, while Raheem Sterling's number has been assigned to Pedro Neto. The newly acquired Chelsea player, Joao Felix, will don the No. 14 jersey, a number that was formerly associated with Trevoh Chalobah. Felix's transfer to Stamford Bridge was officially announced earlier on Wednesday, with the deal valued at approximately £44.5 million, while Conor Gallagher moved in the opposite direction to Atletico Madrid.

The shirt number that Felix is currently wearing is the same as the one he donned while on loan at Barcelona during the previous season. He sported the No. 11 jersey throughout his loan period with the Blues in 2023.

In contrast, fellow summer acquisition Pedro Neto has been assigned the No. 7 shirt, a number previously worn by Raheem Sterling last summer.

Chelsea announced the updated shirt numbers in a statement that did not mention either Chalobah or Sterling by name.

Both Chalobah and Sterling, along with players such as Ben Chilwell, have been instructed to seek new clubs this summer.

In response to inquiries from Sterling and Chilwell on Wednesday, manager Enzo Maresca remarked, “As long as they are Chelsea players, they aspire to remain Chelsea players. Our squad is large, making it unfeasible to provide playing time for everyone.”

Should they be seeking playing time, it would be advisable for them to depart. However, if they choose to stay, it indicates that they are bound by a contract and remain a player for Chelsea.
